| Research Experiences and Faculty Mentoring |
| Montana State University was pleased to be awarded a Beckman Scholars Program in 2004 by the Arnold and Mabel Beckman Foundation. The Beckman Scholars Program provides a unique opportunity to participate in an extended, intensive research project, with a participating faculty member (see below), to outstanding undergraduate research students in chemistry, biology, and biological sciences. |

| Student Eligibility |
| All students currently enrolled in their sophomore or junior year who are enrolled full-time at MSU-Bozeman and studying biology, chemistry, and /or biochemistry. |

| Selection Criteria |
Beckman Scholars will be selected according to the following criteria: |

Clarity and merit of the research proposal |

Student's preparation |

Student's academic accomplishments |
|
Candidates potential to become a leader in science |

| Two-Step Application Process |

| In order to apply to the Beckman Scholars Program, students must be sponsored by one of the following participating faculty mentors: |

Two Letters of Recommendation (one from the sponsoring faculty mentor) |
