    May 1 Classes begin, 6 and 12 week sessions
    June 9 Classes begin, Second 6 week session
    June 10 last day for graduate students to file "Application for Advanced Degree"
    July 4 Independence Day
    July 21 Last day for master's comprehensive or doctoral final examination
    Julyl 21 Last day for approval of thesis, dissertation, or professional paper (if professional paper is submitted to the library) by Graduate Vice Provost.  
    June 27 Last day classes, first 6-week session
    August 8 Last day of classes, second 6- week session & Full 12 week session


    Fall Semester 2008
    Aug 29 9am - noon New Graduate Student Orientation
    1 - 5 GTA Orientation (mandatory for all GTAs teaching this semester who have not previously attended the GTA orientation)
    Sep 2 Classes begin
    Sept. 17 New Graduate Student Dinner
    Sept 20 last day for graduate students to file "Application for Advanced Degree"
    Nov 4 Election Day (no classes; offices closed)
    Nov 11 Veteran's Day holiday (no classes; offices closed)
    Nov 27-28 Thanksgiving holiday (no classes; offices closed)
    Dec 1 Last day for master's comprehensive or doctoral final examination
    Dec 1 Last day for approval of thesis, dissertation, or professional paper (if professional paper is submitted to the library) by Graduate Vice Provost.  
    Dec 12 Last day of classes
    Dec 15-19 Final examinations
    Dec 19 Fall semester ends



    Spring Semester 2009
