Director's Corner
| I'm composing this brief message in an honors seminar room once so familiar to the many students who have completed their time with us, graduated and moved on. The table I write upon is surrounded by their empty chairs, yet I can still see their faces and the room feels alive with their presence. The students who once sat here have left a remarkable legacy. They have received numerous national and international scholarships, fellowships and awards. They have routinely been admitted to the most prestigious graduate and professional schools. And they have enjoyed distinguished careers.
So pull up a chair; one is now waiting for you.
I invite you to join us on an altogether extraordinary educational adventure. Here at Honors we are guided by a vision that celebrates the noblest aspirations of the human spirit. |

 |
| We seek to foster an instinctive curiosity within you while encouraging an intellectual breadth and range that goes beyond a singular academic discipline to encompass the great branches of learning. As such, yours will be a journey that stretches from Homer to Iraq; from Aristotle to the Big Bang; from Shakespeare to the Human Genome. In short, we seek to prepare you for a multidimensional, interactive world. The world as it truly is. |
| |
| Here at Honors we try to think in questions and embrace education as a lifetime journey. We believe that your time with us may open the door to a sense of wonder, while providing you with a more profound understanding of yourself, your fellow human beings and the world around you. The journey now awaits you, and your odyssey promises to go beyond information, beyond knowledge itself, to the very threshold of wisdom. |

If you would like to join us, you may complete an application during your senior year of high school or after arriving on campus. Transfer students may apply at any time as well. So pull up a chair and begin exploring rigorous and exciting courses. The Honors Program is here for you.
