Funding Sources
Pre-Award Services in the Vice President for Research, Creativity and Technology Transfer Office can assist graduate students in identifying possible sources of funding. These may be in the form of fellowships, scholarships, or research grants and range from under $1000 to a major stipend. Assistance is also available in helping you with proposal preparation, if needed.

Montana State University provides two on-line databases for you to search for funding opportunities. They are Community of Science with more than 23,000 opportunities and SPIN (Sponsored Programs Information Network) with more than 12,000. (Access is restricted to computers with MSU IP addresses.)

ARIS (Academic Research Information System) has funding sources for undergraduate and graduate students in the areas of Biomedical, Social and Natural, and Arts and Humanities.

Montana Network for Biomedical Research Opportunities offers faculty, undergraduate and graduate students throughout Montana enhanced research opportunities in the biomedical sciences.

Montana NASA EPSCoR Travel Program provides funding for faculty and students.

Montana Space Grant Consortium
